Thwump… Did you hear that? Another Apple has fallen from heaven…
Gadget Junkies anywhere and everywhere have been raving over the forthcoming release of the moderately priced 3rd generation iPod Shuffle by Apple. It’s true; Apple has unequivocally set the bar for portable media players. Any true gen-techer cannot live without one. Yes, I admit it, I'm one of them; I’d be a complete wreck if I had to survive without my tunes…
So, is the newly released version going to be all it’s cracked up to be? We'll have to wait and see...
It is sleek and stylish; and quite small; I’m suspecting that will be a very useful feature. Won't set you back much either… Apple is now shipping – we’ll have a link for you to make your purchase soon...

For those who haven't heard; there was a recent stirring over the accusation of Apple putting an interesting twist into the new unit. It seems that the new iPod Shuffle is not campatable with normal headphones. The comments made over the weekend stated that Apple used an authentication chip in the design and manufacture of the new Shuffle to be used with the headsets. It was boldly implied that this was a crafty attempt by Apple to force people to buy new Shuffle headgear from them rather than third parties.
Apple responded by saying that this was not a marketing strategy but a design requirement due to the playback controls being relocated to the headsets. Apple pointed out that several manufacturers are at work on producing compatible headphones incorporating the integrated playback controls as well as an adapter becoming available soon making it work with standard headgear.
This accusation created considerable concern over the past several days but I doubt it will hinder Apple’s place in the market any. Frankly, I’m looking forward to my new toy. We’ll keep you posted on future developments.
Keeping the beat… Tia T.
